Carpet in school classroom affected by water from burst pipe Water Damage in Anderson Classroom

An Anderson school called us afterhours saying that they had a pipe burst in their kitchen sink. A nearby classroom that had both tile and carpet was affected from the water. Once the call came in, our dispatch team were called, and we contacted the customer back with an estimated time of arrival within 2 hours of the initial call. Once SERVPRO of Anderson’s team is on site, they speak with the customer to get a better understanding of the work they would like completed. Production extracted the standing water from the affected room and set the proper drying equipment. Depending on the extent of the water damage, there may be a need for demolition to remove affected materials. This is something that is always discussed with the customer or with the insurance covering the job before any demolition is actually done. For this specific job, we did not do any demolition. Over the next couple of days, our production crew went out to monitor the equipment and move it if necessary, to assure that the entire floor was being dried. Once the tile and the carpet give a reading that signifies the floor is dry enough, the equipment is removed and the process complete. Each water job comes with its own circumstances, some more complex than others, but SERVPRO of Anderson’s production crew will always follow all these steps to ensure you have a smooth mitigation process. If you have a water leak or flood in your home or business, give us a call at (864)-224-0285 and we will talk you through every step of the process!
